Great Weekend...Even Better Monday

First off, I went in to this past weekend expecting to spend time doing wedding planning and maybe some house chores. We spent Friday afternoon working on our registration, playing with Sophie, watching TV, napping, as well as other random/lazy afternoon activities. That night, I fired up the grill and threw on my marinated chicken breasts (topped with pepperjack cheese and pico de gallo) and veggie skewers. After the feast, we cuddled on the couch and watched our favorite TV shows....online...because we can't afford cable...and the commercials are only 30 seconds...but I digress.

Saturday, we ventured all the way over to Lufkin to check up/update our registry (Target, Dillards, and Bed, Bath & Beyond) and had a great time adding hundreds of items to our wish list. The best part of the night was getting a free salad from Wendy's. Oh yeah, it was totally free. We finished up with VIP treatment at Bed, Bath & Beyond and a very successful shopping trip (for Maegan, ask her about her new shoes) at Ross.

Sunday night, I had the great privalege of playing with Lufkin's own Todd Wright. The set was great, the guys were fantastic, and we had a good turn out. I do hope that I have the oppurtunity to sit in with him in the future.

Monday, and the pinnacle of this waste of time known as a blog, I recieved a call from a friend asking if we could meet and talk. We had spent some time disussing religious matters and he told me that he was looking for something. We met and went to Starbucks to sit and discuss. He told me he was ready to make a desicion and we prayed right there. It was such a great oppurtunity to be a part of God's HUGE plan. I feel so humble and small, yet He can use me for His glory.

Sorry for such a long post! I just had to get that out. I'll try harder to blog more frequently=shorter posts. Peace.

Rough Start

So I must first apologize, it's been over a week and I have left you all in suspense.

Everything has been going alright. That is, until 2 nights ago...
I received a phone call from Maegan at 3:36 AM (Tuesday morning) and was slowly awakened from a deep slumber. The first thing I remember her saying was the she had already called the cops. That kind of got my attention. She went on to say that her and Sophie (our black lab) were awakened by someone pounding on the window in the living room. Our guard dog was more scared than Maegan and actually tryed to hide behind her (Sophie weighs over 60 lbs). Anyway, the police arrived (while I was still at my house trying to find which way up was) and swept the perimeter. Maegan called me back and told me that they didn't find anybody. Needless to say, we were both freaked out and there is still a madman roaming the streets of north Nacogdoches. The past 2 nights have been thankfully uneventful and we are in the process of amping up our home security measures (guard dog school is looking like a good investment).

So that's hopefully the end of that story. I will keep all 3 of you readers up to date as things continue to unfold.

Peace.

First Post

Hey All!

I hope this post finds you well. I have recently been immersing myself in the wonderful land of blogs and decided to give this thing a shot. This is a big step for me and I really hope to keep this blog going. I have a bad habit of starting stuff like this and never finishing. A few things to expect from future blogs:

-Tech projects happening at Grace Bible Church
-Recording projects of my own
-Minutes upon minutes of mind-blowing text!
-And much, much more!

So lets get this business going!
