Great Weekend...Even Better Monday

First off, I went in to this past weekend expecting to spend time doing wedding planning and maybe some house chores. We spent Friday afternoon working on our registration, playing with Sophie, watching TV, napping, as well as other random/lazy afternoon activities. That night, I fired up the grill and threw on my marinated chicken breasts (topped with pepperjack cheese and pico de gallo) and veggie skewers. After the feast, we cuddled on the couch and watched our favorite TV shows....online...because we can't afford cable...and the commercials are only 30 seconds...but I digress.

Saturday, we ventured all the way over to Lufkin to check up/update our registry (Target, Dillards, and Bed, Bath & Beyond) and had a great time adding hundreds of items to our wish list. The best part of the night was getting a free salad from Wendy's. Oh yeah, it was totally free. We finished up with VIP treatment at Bed, Bath & Beyond and a very successful shopping trip (for Maegan, ask her about her new shoes) at Ross.

Sunday night, I had the great privalege of playing with Lufkin's own Todd Wright. The set was great, the guys were fantastic, and we had a good turn out. I do hope that I have the oppurtunity to sit in with him in the future.

Monday, and the pinnacle of this waste of time known as a blog, I recieved a call from a friend asking if we could meet and talk. We had spent some time disussing religious matters and he told me that he was looking for something. We met and went to Starbucks to sit and discuss. He told me he was ready to make a desicion and we prayed right there. It was such a great oppurtunity to be a part of God's HUGE plan. I feel so humble and small, yet He can use me for His glory.

Sorry for such a long post! I just had to get that out. I'll try harder to blog more frequently=shorter posts. Peace.

I love how you shamelessly threw the shout out for the registeries. Oh yeah, and I love you.

I just thought that, you know, maybe someone was wondering were they could spend thousands of dollars on us...

Anonymous people creep me out...especially when they tell you that they love you. Creepy!

Man, that is awesome that you were able to be a part of this friends' entering into a relationship with Christ. That's so amazing to see God work in situations that you don't even realize are there.
